considering Sukuna had 4 arms and therefore 16 fingers and only 4 thumbs... they're probably just lumping in the count of thumbs with the fingers and the thumbs haven't turned up yet. it is all just a matter of numbers and the ratio of fingers to thumbs is SERIOUSLY weighted in the fingers' favor.
